| What constitutes "general service?" Diagnostics, repair, networking, security sweeps, system analysis/design/integration, and anything else not specifically covered within our published rates (see below). |
| |
| What is pick-up/drop-off service? A technician will — free of charge — pick up the system to be serviced and return it after work is complete. |
| |
| Why are on-site service rates higher than pick-up/drop-off service rates? Because our full range of parts, tools, diagnostic hardware and software, and research materials is only available in Blade Technologies offices, on-site service is simply far more difficult, and therefore requires our most experienced, skilled — and expensive — technicians. |
| |
| What constitutes "emergency service?" Any physical visit made or service performed outside of normal business hours (8a-6p, Monday-Saturday). Clients whose service began during business hours but continued into emergency service hours will usually not be charged for emergency service. Pre-arranged service outside of normal business hours will be billed at $75/hr. — one-half the emergency service sur-charge. Blade will never perform emergency services or charge any client for emergency service without a prior signed authorization. |

| How much is a basic web page? Typical initial creation of a simple web page requires one-hour of design and 4 hours of programming, totalling $215. A web site consisting of several pages (e.g., introduction page, products page, services page, pricing page, and contact information page) will total $395-575. If signing a service contract, the $10/yr. domain name registration fee is waived, and hosting and maintenance/updating fees are combined and can usually be provided to small business for a total of $15/mo. However, every case is different. Please call Blade and let us provide a custom-tailored estimate for you. |

| Software Engineering Rates |
|
| Design (requirements gathering/interface, etc.) |
by contract or $35/hr. |
| Programming |
by contract or $45/hr. |
| Support |
by contract or $95/incident |
| |
| Why are so many software engineering rates listed as "by contract?" For small, short-term, and/or ambiguously defined projects, Blade charges according to the rates published above. For large, long-term, and/or well-defined projects, Blade will be pleased to negotiate a contract with the client. Contract rates are always lower than published rates (in some cases, very much lower), but every case is different. Please call Blade and let us provide a custom-tailored estimate for you. |

| Standard Curriculum |
by contract or according to class rates |
| |
| What is "open curriculum?" Open curriculum is one in which the class content is not pre-determined or is ambiguously defined. This usually only occurs in one or two-student situations, e.g. "I'm having a lot of trouble with my computer and just have so many questions about e-mail, word processing, and the Internet. Can you help?" |
